Final Words
John, the youngest and the beloved of the original twelve disciples, is now the only one left. Once possibly viewed as the kid brother, has now become the Father figure to the early church. John is the only Apostle to grow into old age as he saw all his fellow apostles go and give their lives for Christ. The original disciples have completed their mission, finished their race, and John is the only one left. Once the youngest disciple, John is now discipling Jesus’ young church. John, the last Apostle that saw Jesus face-to-face, sends out three last letters to the people and Church he cares about, as he pens his final words. In this series, we’ll look at what John’s eternal and final words mean for us today, 2,000 years after they were written.
